CONGRATULATIONS!! YOU DID IT!!

We had a beautiful day to run Abe's. Everyone did a fantastic job. We have had so much fun with this group. You don't realize that you all helped us as well as us helping you. I hope you all continue to run and take advantage of the great area fall races. Polka 5K and Decatur Shoreline are coming up in September. You can continue your training and stay in shape. It would be a shame to stop running now!!

Tues. August 12th

Our group will be meeting at Washington Park at 5:45 at the Playground/Shelter area. We are planning on running 4 miles. Important thing this week - get plenty of rest, fluids (beer doesn't count!) and eat healthy!!

No rain in the forecast for Tuesday! Yet, anyway!!

TUES. - MEET AT GATE 11- 8TH STREET

With Fair set-up being in full swing, we've decided that the Corporals should meet at gate 11. Some people call it the 8th Street gate it's by the Ag Building, across the street from Franny's. I think you'll be able to park on the grounds or on the streets in the neighborhood. Linda will have water in her vehicle and well have water at the Abe's Amble stops. Remember to stay to the left when entering the Cemetery and leave the same way. We're avoiding going past the Tomb because of the Flag lowering ceremony. Remember rules of the road. Pedestrians stay to the LEFT at all times. However, during the race, when the roads are closed to vehicular traffic, we stay to the RIGHT. Please, no more than two abreast.

DRINK!! DRINK!!! PLENTY OF FLUIDS

We may have a heat index up to 100 on Tuesday. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids all day. Would be a good idea to stay away from too much caffeine. We may slow our pace down if it does get that hot. Remember to dress cool as well.

Tuesday July 29th - Practicing Abe's Course

Tuesday we are practicing the Abe's Course. Hard to believe it's only a couple of weeks away. For those of you who haven't ran the course before, there is only the part in the cemetary that you haven't ran. Now you get to put it all together! This will be a fun night, hopefully the rain will stay away.
